Not another watch to identify...

Hello everyone. First let me apologise as I'm sure you frequenters get this a lot, but I have been passed an Omega wristwatch and have no information on it whatsoever. I was given simply the watch and nothing else, and my usual business is with pocket watches so I can't help with personal knowledge. My apologies if this is in the wrong place also. Anyway, I have a few pictures, and a suspicion that it may be fake. Here they are, quite ridiculously large. Sorry! tumblr_naisyixQAP1r96k35o3_1280.jpg

It's in moderate condition and keeps good time. I would guess it's made of stainless. The band has a sort of chain-mail type of feel. I opened the back to discover absolutely nothing, which, coupled with the fact the back has a seemingly arbitrary number from my searching, is what leads me to believe it could be a fake. Though as I know nothing of wrist watches I may well be talking out my behind. In any case, thanks very much in advance to anyone who can impart any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum...... and I can say I have never seen this one before. The back case markings make me suspicious!!

Limited worth even if it is real. The only way to really tell is the show pics of inner caseback and movement. Looks 80s in design and there were quite a few 'generic' Omega quartz models at that time, although as already mentioned it is generally not an Omega practice the emblazon the outer caseback.

Cheers

The first question is... Did an uncle you didn't know you had give you this watch. If the answer is yes I can guarantee it is 100% fake. Do not in any circumstances let your mum get involved with this person in any way. The bloke has struck many times and there's a lot of mothers out there with nasty rashes.
