And these little buggers are just as bad as the Box jellies...and you can barely see them in the water.

Irukandji jellyfish - Wikipedia

Had a friend get stung on the lip when one fell off a fishing net. Was helicoptered off the vessel into Darwin hospital a few years back.

Any Aussies remember Bullen’s African Lion Safari Parks during the ‘70s and ‘80s? I have only a hazy early memory of going to the Gold Coast one some time before it closed in 1988. Cars drove into an open park with roaming lions, tigers, elephants, hyenas etc. In 1973 an attendant was killed by lions in front of a family watching from their station wagon. In 1982, a visitor got out of his car and walked into a lion’s pride, his death ruled a suicide. Those were different times…

Yep, there was one in Perth in the early 1970s and it was closed down exactly because of this reason. When that avenue wasn't available to those intent on being mauled to death, they took to attending the Zoo and jumping into the polar bear confine.

This old fella (Kookaburra) turned up again today - third day in a row. He doesn't want to kill anyone or anything other than a few spiders, mice and a snake or two and of course those those wiley willy-wag-tails constantly strafing him as he settles into their territory. How do I know he is male? Males have blue tails, females reddish-brown tails.

One of these guys keeps waking up one of my kids by continually tapping on the window. I believe it’s because it sees its reflection as a threat so is trying to attack it. I don’t suppose it’s trying to kill her, but lack of sleep can be a dangerous thing 🥱

After one of our sons and his wife moved into their new house overlooking bushland in a Sydney suburb, we visited for lunch on their back terrace. When the food came out we were joined by a family of kookaburras, lining up for their share.

When none was forthcoming the boldest of them made a low altitude run over the table and neatly snatched food from the hand of our grandson. He was delighted but his mum was not pleased.

Yep, I thought the major issue was going to be the swooping magpies, but it ended up being annoying teenagers instead 😲

Mathieu van der Poel was a favorite for the world championship. He was denied the chance by a moronic teenager. So it seems Australia has hazardous children as well as a wild animals. An elite athelete ends up being charged for trying to get some sleep.
A very bad look for Australia.

Had it been my kids doing knock and run at 23:00 (unsupervised) in a hotel their "assault injuries" would have been the least of their problems.

MvdP may have acted in haste, but the blame lies with the parents (primarily) and the rugrats (secondly).

But then again, my kids at that age would not have been running around deserted hotel hallways at that time of night, or at any time.

Not condoning what the teenagers done….but welcome to society nowadays.

You don’t plead guilty if your not guilty.

The statement followed the announcement that Van der Poel had been fined A$1,500 (£909) after admitting two counts of common assault. According to New South Wales Police, who were called by hotel management, he pushed both of them, with one of the girls falling to the ground and the other sustaining a grazed elbow after scraping it against a wall.

How about ringing down stairs and letting management sort it out. Pushing two teenagers was a dumbass move by a could have been world champion.

Now had it have been a back packer with a leaf blower like the one that woke me at a bush hotel at 6 am when I had been up all night working. “The Australian language taught to them won’t be forgotten in a while….”
