They keep you awake until you feed yourself to a croc; it's a highly evolved symbiotic relationship between all 3 parties.

True.......and once they get in sync it’s like they are getting closer and closer, and louder and louder. Then they will stop for a few seconds and then another one fucker will start with one croak and start the whole chain again.
Usually raining that heavy up my way the rain drowns them out.

Any culture that can produce cricketers like Shane Warne and the Waugh twins can't be all bad! 👍 Is/Was there a better player to watch in full flow than Mark Waugh? I don't think so...and that's coming from a pom! 😉

can’t trust it if it’s from Australia! Might be cute until it’s got some poisonous defense mechanisms!

Only kidding of course.

It's the possum's fault:

The flesh-eating disease spreading in Australia

*blah, blah, blah,* It was about six weeks from Noel noticing the mark to getting a definitive biopsy and taking the right medication. The doctors say he could have lost his foot.

Prior to noticing the initial mark, Noel had been doing a lot of work in the garden, digging up the soil to make way for a big shed. "I cut down a bunch of trees that have not been disturbed in 20 years," he says. "I'm pretty convinced that [getting the ulcer] coincided with disrupting the trees and possum habitat."

Yes – possums. Scientists believe these fluffy, nocturnal creatures may play a key role in the transmission of the Buruli ulcer to humans. They too suffer from the disease, and the Buruli bacteria – called Mycobacterium ulcerans – is found in high quantities in their faeces. Much natural possum habitat has been lost to development in recent years, bringing possums and humans closer together as the two species vie for space, and quite possibly driving up cases of the disease.

Well...is it?

This went unnoticed from a few days ago, did no one read about it in their Facebook newsfeed?

"Getting your news from Farcebook is like getting financial advice from a casino."

Seen in an article recently in response to Farcebook throwing a big bully dummy spit tantrum and blocking hundreds of Australian sites.

From the Washington Post (my bold and underline).

"Australian media companies had their Facebook pages stripped of all content. Also wiped were Facebook pages run by science organizations, hospital, charities and even domestic violence support groups. A Facebook executive apologized for this on Friday, saying it was inadvertent.

Forgot to include Emergency Service pages, Australian Bureau of Meteorology page, also hundreds of private pages totally unrelated to the media, but run by people who need that facility to earn a living, the list was incredible.

I don't think Fuckerberg will be visiting Australia any time soon, which will be a good thing for us.

The other problem we are facing at the moment is the locust plague, zillions of them, decimate a property to bare earth then on to the next place. You have got to be careful driving over them as they are that thick on the ground the adversely affect steering and braking.
