The paint began to come off of my vintage Speedmaster’s case back after a few years, but I’ve found that not to be the case with my Seamaster 300M after 3 years of ownership. It’s interesting given that I baby my Speedy, but run in the Seamaster, wear it in the water and hot summer days, etc.
That looks like a no time to die, so likely under warranty. I don’t know, but I suspect omega might cover it under warranty since it does looks closer to premature wear vs accidental damage.

It is still under warranty, but considering it's running at +0.2 sec/day, and resets to 0 if I leave it on its side at night, I don't think I'd risk sending it in over anything cosmetic. This is the most accurate watch I've ever owned.
