I think it’s legit. Those pips are too perfect to be a relume and you rarely see that sunburst pattern on the dial replicated in a redial.
These look great on a strap but I love them on the bricks bracelet- goes from dressy to sporty.
Nice pick-up

I agree. I think the right bracelet would be the 1040 with 518 end links, at least that’s what I’ve seen on eBay. Any idea how much would be the right price to pay for a good used example?

The one on mine is a 1040 with 518, but I believe there was another one but can’t remember which one.
They generally go for around $200 which I think is an bargain since a good strap will put you around half of that or more.

I am in the camp that any vintage watch that works, looks clean and gives pleasure for $620 then you are on to a winner.

Particularly if it has not been multiply slammed in first five responses.

Having seen the later photos I now agree that the lume looks original. Seems it was the photo angle causing the problem. So a plunge with a positive result!

Well guys, I'm very happy with it so far. Will probably need to spend another $2-300 on a bracelet when one comes up, and I'll send it for a service soon, and then I will be a very happy bunny.

I definitely intend to. It's going to be my everyday watch... until I find my next everyday watch. In cycling we have a joke

Q: How many bikes does a guy need?
A: N+1, where N is the number of bikes he currently has.

I'm coming to the view that the same goes for wristwatches.

I get this on many levels, but especially as a Cyclist, an Applied Mathematics major and a watch enthusiast!😉

The good thing about collecting watches is you don't need to build an extension on the house to store them!

You obviously haven't seen some of the collections.
