Give 'em time. They will highlight Lyles ambassadorship and the timing system that allowed a winner to be determined by 0.005 seconds. 'Precision, Omega style'

I saw some chatter about this on Reddit because of omega's post on instagram. My assumption was that was the route they were going to capture a specific audience- let the internet do the work.

I don't always agree with omega's advertising choices but this one actually makes a lot of sense, if you happen to search for omega's website because you saw that Noah wears a DSOTM, Omega doesn't throw that information at you a second time, currently the first thing you see on their website is that they support/represent the Olympics- and it's easy to just look at watches from there. It's an understated way to tell someone who maybe doesn't know a ton about Omega but is interested because Noah wears one, that Omega's importance is greater than just him.

I could be reading too much into it.

Omega has always had a strong association with the Olympics. I think even for non watch people, those who are observant will notice Omega's presence everywhere during the games. But as suggested, a chronograph associated with a gold medal sprinter makes absolute sense from a marketing perspective.

All this concern about the Speedy but nobody worries about whether you can fling yourself 20 feet into air on a pole while wearing an aqua terra.

The risk isn't in the going up, it's in the landing. No mats = watch (and wearer) needing servicing.

Lucky for him, he won. Had he lost, people would have questioned if his Omega had contributed to 0.002 slower poerformance. Rolex guys would be having a field day.

Gabby Thomas won a gold medal earlier today while wearing a Constellation-

I read she wore a Speedmaster at an event earlier in the year, too.

I also saw Leon Marchand wearing a Speedmaster Chronoscope outside of the pool.

I’ve enjoyed seeing Omegas on the wrists of olympians during their events!

Agree. I love the Olympics. Despite the many criticisms of these games, which are almost all valid, you can never take away the incredible performances, and the personal triumph that we only see at the Olympics. My favorite moments so far have been
- Mondo's world record pole vault
- Noah Lyle's 100m win
- Gabby winning the 200m
- The near absolute perfection of the two Chinese women 10m platform divers
- The Korean men's archery team taking the gold
- Men's and women's indoor volleyball matches have been stellar so far

If he had been wearing a gold flightmaster he wouldn't have even made the podium...

Rolexes are for the boxers. More weight behind their punches.
