No time to die - Rotor noise (updated with video)

Pretty much all ceramic ball bearings are like this, to my knowledge. If you were to pick up a Rolex with a 3235 movement, assuming you could find one, you'd discover that it makes the same noise.

It is interesting as I have not noticed much noise from my SMP No Time To Die, nor my Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Polaris 1968… Both have ceramic ball bearings which have been fairly silent thus far but of course I don’t have any reasons to shake my hands like mad to try and hear it…

I have a Diver 300M with caliber 8800. At the beginning, there was no noise but 6 months later I started to hear the "noise". At first, I have freaked out, but I was told that it is normal. Today, I don't even notice it. The watch runs accurately.

So it may be wearing out then lead to the noise…

Thank the lord for this thread and thank all of you. Bought my NTTD on Chrono 24 and noticed right away the noisy rotor. Feels like the movement from an automatic swatch. I thought I got ripped off. I don’t mind it. I’m just happy this is a common thing with the 8800 movement.

This thread cracked me up several times to include that last video lol.

Laughing aside, normal for a 3861 to make a faint sound when shook?... but none of those motions done in the videos though 😀

3861 is a manual wind -- no rotor, no sound, so shouldn't be any sounds except the bracelet and/or endlinks perhaps.

Just tried it again, held the bracelet and end links tightly. Still heard a sound like there is something inside moving around, not loud at all.

I'll check back here again when I change to a strap, and shake without the bracelet on.

Sorry. But what exactly are you talking about? This thread is about the no time to die seamaster with the 8806

It could very well be the wheels moving inside the movement due to end shake - more on that here:

Here is a video I made of the sound of it on a Panerai...you will need to turn the volume up...

Thanx. But again. We are talking specifically about the Omega Seamaster 007 no time to die and it’s 8806 movement.

Not sure why you believe you are the thread police...but you aren't...

Interesting. So is the crystal more reflective than, say, the regular SMP Diver?
Yes it is, as the NTTD crystal has AR on the inside only. Where as the SMP Diver 300 has the AR on both inside and outside.
