Thank you everyone for the replies whether I should have swapped my Seamaster 300 with the Jaeger-lecoultre Master Calendar. Quick update, I got the JLC yesterday after trading in the Seamaster. Have been wearing the JLC since yesterday, very pleased with the watch, understated, love the day/date/month functions. Very comfortable to wear, I do like a bit of 'beef' on my watches, the JLC has enough weight and thickness to remind me it's there but at the same it's light and unobstructive.

Quality and finish are superb and accuracy is spot on, +2 seconds within 24 hrs which is excellent in my book.

Will I miss the Seamaster? I do get attached to my watches, so yes, will certainly will raise memories each time I see one on a website. Still, absolutely worth the trade in, the JLC is a much more functional watch for what I need.

Finally, I always considered myself as a sporty/diver watches type, dress watches were never my thing until about last year when I started noticing them more. With JLC master calendar I find myself wondering whether I am entering a new chapter in my 'watches journey' 😀. Or could be a age thing hitting 52 soon...

Once thanks for all your thoughts!

New toy pic attached 👍

Cheers.

If you want to dial back the dressy … I went with a distressed shell cordovan and parked the alligator.

Choosing between the functionality of the JLC and the aesthetics of your Sea-master is tough. Maybe think about which features you value more in your daily wear.

I’m going with the minority and choosing the Omega. I appreciate the overall quality of the JLC but I don’t care for the red crescent on the seconds hand and the size/shape of the indices. I do like the white dial and moon phase though. OTOH, while I’m typically not a fan of faux vintage lume on the Omega it looks right. I also prefer time only no date watches. As the owner of a Speedmaster Racing that’s a wildly inconsistent statement.
