Is the new watch legit? ;)

Happy that things turned out ok.

I am actually struck by how relatively smoothly your return and refund went. So many potential SNAFUs somehow did not make themselves known.

These seem to have slipped under my radar. I know almost nothing about them. What attracts you to them?

It is the most beautiful Nomos I have ever seen. Such a pity. Hope you find another one like it soon!

Thanks E! Erm, I did find another one in the end ;) Really pleased!

Yeah I know, I was actually pretty lucky that things worked out. Full credit to the original dealer.

Very happy for the happy ending. That is a gorgeous time piece!

I do wonder if the watch ever was returned to the original owner who had it stolen. The original owner reported it stolen. Nomos was made aware that the stolen watch was located. It seems there's a missing step... Nomos contacting the original owner and arranging it's return... or something to that effect. Otherwise, what's the point of reporting it stolen?

My bad, I was reading the first post and replied to the happy ending post instead. Good ending indeed!

Wasn't it from a retailer and not a private owner? In any case, hopefully the dealer got in touch with the pawn shop and reported the theft somehow.

I expect the retailer would have made an insurance claim. The stolen item would now be owned by the insurer.

Yes, Nomos will probably inform the original retailer who can then pursue the return of the watch. If it was insured however, and if they claimed it, perhaps it'll be the insurance company who recovers it. In any case, it's out of my hands, and over to the appropriate authorities!

There are a couple of gold Tangentes (with white dials, like @MarcelGuinchard 's) on ebay. Search 'gold nomos watch', good luck!
