I have a feeling my time is near. Let's just say that if I was having an actual fast I would have already gone shopping for groceries and would now be waiting for the oven to heat up. Like all those diet experts say: losing weight is not a question of willpower, it's about changing your lifestyle. And I didn't change my lifestyle - I didn't stop reading OF. My diet was doomed from the start 🙁
NOTHING! not one...
unless you're counting a spring for my 30mm Omega... but that was needed as the old one went twang.
the watchmaker was surprised at the $56 price tag on the spring for the Omega, I just smiled and said "Omega"
I had him put one in a Hamilton last year, it was $22.
besides, I bought a new bicycle and such things have so many needs!

By coincidence I have made a lifestyle change / not much OF for a while. My situation is stable / holding firm but something is on my radar.... I will check in again in a couple of months and I hope to hold the line.... but there are temptations....

Heh I'm still doing ok with plans to consolidate some more when I have some spare time to sell so I think I'll still be net negative!

Nice looking bicycle. What brand is that? I own a Pashley and it's great. Riding a classic bike is so much fun.
50.5 pounds, 26” frame, 28” wheels... so its like cruising on a two wheeled Benz.
i love the linked drum brakes, its like chucking an anchor off the back.
and they even stove the frame between coats of paint.

I don't have the guts to do it the other way round.....can only buy a new one AFTER I sell one. Mrs. P has offered help for enforcement
but really not wanting to head down that road yet.

··I don't see any option in settings or profileGood luck with this.....I will be rooting for you, having tried similar for the last 15 years. Works well until the selling doesn't quite keep pace with the buying. And then "just this once" becomes more.......and then you need a new watch box.
Ask me again in a year. The beer's on me if I fail 😁

·I tend to buy either very specific watches (uncommon Certina DS references) or strike at deals that are just too good to be true, but this year there have been nothing so far.
So, while I am not averse to the idea of a watch fast, it would seem that the world is having a Conelpueblo fast instead 🙁

My ultimate temptation came in the form of Omega Constellation 2782, sold by @MtV The watch was just way too lovely with gold arrowhead markers and a crosshair... Come to think of it, no, I don't repent! Sometimes beautiful things can born of sinful actions. Here's proof of that:

I’ve found hiding, living actually, in the corner of the basement behind the waterheater, to be pretty effective...
I’m passing my time reading a set of Brittanica Encyclopaedias I found back here... I’m part way into “C” now so I may be in trouble about December 5 when I run out of reading material.

Come on man... You can always stop buying watches after your next purchase... You need that one watch, just that one... After that your collection will be complete and perfect... Everything will be perfect...
