No longer able to copy links to threads, or open in a new tab

Hello mods and members

Using an iPad and iphone, I am suddenly no longer able to open a thread in a new tab, or to copy a thread’s location (ie if I want to copy and paste a link so I can provide someone with a direct link to a particular thread). Was this ability lost during recent upgrades, or is it on my end?

Many thanks

I lost the ability to do so as well on my iPhone. I suspected it was during a template change. I liked being able to “open in background.”

That's a strange one, we haven't changed anything related to links. We'll try to figure out the cause.

Which browser?

I’m using Safari. When I long press a link, it just highlights the word I happen to be pressing, allowing me to select/copy it.

Are other sites still working as you'd expect them to?

I tested a few and none seemed to work for long-press, it just highlights part of the link instead. Very strange.

Many thanks Chrome, and I’ve also just tried Firefox and Explorer with the same results. Maybe @STANDY can send me his iPad?

Well, that explains why I don’t see the issue.

I’ve never used long press for copying links. I’ve always opened up a new window and copied the link from the search bar on the other page.

I just tested it on a couple other sites and the long press to open in background worked.

Do you mind sending a PM with one of the working ones? Or just link it here. Thanks

While making coffee in the morning I like to scroll the Latest page and open threads I want to read “in the background” so I can read them after my coffee is done brewing. 😀

Glad it's working. We've been pushing out a bunch of small updates and fixes.

Did those include removal of the “mark as read” options?

Should be there. Might have been gone for a moment when some things were shuffled around. Let me know.
