Well like the title says, other than it being German, I have no idea what I bought haha.
I believe the writing maybe means waterproof and something else.
It may actually be kind of a no name piece but I’ll know more when I receive it and take the back off.

Looks like late 40s or early 50s, obscure brand but cool looking handset, good quality screw back case and great condition it seems.
The strap looks really cool too.

Yeah thanks Syrte, the condition is what struck me.
I believe you’re right on the money with the era too.
The ad said 30’s but I knew that wasn’t correct.
Late 40’s early 50’s is exactly what I thought.

Lots of Germans in the mid west. I bet one of them picked this beauty up when on vacation in Germany decades ago.

Nice catch 👍. I think it’d look nice on a caramel brown strap, though that strap works well.

I believe that DGM means that the design of the watch (looks, not mechanics) has been registered. The patent would have covered how it works. I believe this dates the watch to post 1945 because before then the acronym would have included an “R” as the second letter (Reich).

Well… I suppose it just is what it is.
I was hoping the movement would be high end “ish”
but it’s relatively basic looking. As you can see there is shock protection so I’m going to stick with late forties -early fifties.
Whatever exactly it is, it appears to be almost NOS.
It won’t wind and therefore is a non runner but man am I happy, it’s gorgeous!!
