Greetings, I came across this watch, that primarly seems nice, but.... Wheres the usual adjusted 5 temp and positions in the movement? there isnt! is that "OK"?
Appears the movement has been switched out at some point. Cal 565 are not chronometer rated movements.
I would say no. I think it should have a 561 in it. As is stated above, 565 is not a chronometer http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/14366/
If you're into Connies read Desmonds Constellation collectors blog site Most of what you need to know is there (But not all of it...the rest is here in the brains of the watch-gods)
Not really... You can see the reference number in the back, and the different varieties of Constellations are very well described online. If you are keen to buy a good specimen, I'd suggest you read up on the subject on Desmond's blog and by searching here, perhaps using the ref. no. as a search parameter. Also, get a feel of what makes a dial stand out as a redial - that will get you far!
Also look at the show and tell Connie thread It contains most of the Connie dial variations to compare your targets to
Would a Constellation of that vintage have Calendar printed on the dial? I've seen it on the earlier bumper automatics, but it looks out of place on this one!
the dial on this watch appears to be complete fantasy but the 'Calendar' did come with a 504 and a 561 if this 14393 case ever housed a 'Calendar' dial it would be a 561 from around 1960 -unlike the movement which is from the best part of 10 years later....
my guess is they both started off life looking something like this (ebay sale from 2014 - a 14393 cal561 -with later rotor)
Didn't see the case back. Does it have the Constellation observatory image? I assume that's what it is.
