I am looking for an earlier CASD with tritium dial/hands, in great condition. I am really after lume that has aged well between the dial and hands. Below are two images showing what I am after. Original signed bracelet is a plus but not a deal breaker. I am located in the US and would prefer to find one locally but I am not opposed to international deals. Below are two images pulled from OF showing what I am after.

    Thank you!

I have seen that one a little while ago and it is a bit well outside of my budget as it’s a really early radium version. Thank you for sharing this though :)

the second watch you showed is mine and regarding the lume I just can say, it’s James Hymans work ;) had a super tired dial and hands with broken out lume. So I could decide how I wanted it on my watch and haven’t regret it since.

here is another pic of it

Thanks Lester :) I was actually aware of this one while it was a live auction on eBay. I’m still searching though

Can finally update this as found

Though it ended a bit differently as I picked up an earlier Croton Nivada Grenchen Chronograph Aviator Sea Diver with a Venus 210.

This is the sellers pic as it’ll be here in a few days and I’ll share mine. Dust is on the crystal, case sharp, radium looks great, uniform wear on the bezel, needs a service. $1,700

It’s amazing to me that the vintage ones are less than the new ones.

Oh I wish that were true. Last year maybe, when I first started looking. I have watched the price steadily climb on these. I have watched the Chronomaster version sell around the 2,000 mark. Just above/below depending on name on the dial. I have all but counted the Chronograph version as a non option as I have seen dealer prices between 3,000-4,000+ with a link above priced at 5,400. Twice this year there were two dual branded Croton Nivada Grenchen Chronograph like mine above that sold on OF for 2,500 and 2,800 euro. Factoring in a service cost, I still feel like I did well.

Congrats, Aaron! I was watching that but didn't bid as I'm mainly in selling mode these days. Looks very nice and honest. The dial texture gave me pause as did the fact that it's not running, but $1750 seems good anyway given that it's a Mk1. Worth the risk, even if you need a few hundred in parts, and I'm guessing it will look great on the wrist. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Hopefully the repair goes ok. I'd suggest having the hands stabilized.

Thanks Dan! I am really excited about this one. Like you said, I figured this one was worth the risk. Hopefully it's a simple fix but even a couple hundred into the movement leaves me in a good all in (and I edited the price typo in my post. Thumbs and phone screens don't always pair well). I believe a fair amount of the dust is on the crystal. I was studying the varying angles up close and a fair amount of the white spots were in different locations in each image. Beyond that, I like the texture/color of the dial and the color of the radium. Lately I have been seeing a lot of the later chronomasters listed with moldy green lume and same with a few of the earlier chronographs. The movement looked good with a few of the screw heads being touched at some point in their lives but it looked to be complete. I noticed the running seconds hand was in a different position in each pic, so the movement "runs" but we will see how poorly that is when it arrives early next week. I definitely plan on having the lume stabilized as well. I do think this piece will look fantastic in hand and will wear really well. I am really excited to finally be able to close this out and even more excited to have an earlier example, which I did not expect.
