Hello, i do really like the reference but the dial is in very poor condition ... What are you thoughts ?
The dial is in poor condition, yes, what do you want to know ? What is the price ? Is it a steel case ? How is the movement ? How is the back ? How can we tell anything ? We need more infos...
Sorry This is a screw back case, steel case, reference 224105, big diameter 36mm, the watch is running, price is 2,5k ...
So if dial is essentially no good, you are essentially paying for case, movement, hands, crown and pushers. Do you have pictures of the movement and any side/ angled shots of the watch sides? That would probably help the UG experts here better answer your question (and sorry, but I am as far from an expert on these as you can get)
This watch has also been discussed in the following thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/universal-geneve-watches-on-ebay.3584/page-111#post-620383
You are the one who can answer that question. You know what the problems are with the watch. It's up to you.
I would also question those pushers. They might be able to be secured back down but they both look like they might turn into "go" pushers.
I wasn't sure if the dial was as bad as the photos seemed to indicate - is the top of the dial really that badly faded or is it just masked by reflection from the crystal? I asked the seller to provide additional photographs but unfortunately they are probably worse than the original ones! It may be worth a punt but not at 2.5k (£, $ or Euros) so I suspect the reserve will rule me out.
Thanks. So it looks as if my hunch was right and that the dial is not as bad as it seemed from the original photographs.
I was the one who posted this on the UG watches on ebay thread. Great catch Mazoue about the quality of the dial Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I still would insist on a picture that was respectful of the need for support of an informed decision. This is a classic buy the seller situation.
Despite some frantic sniping raising the bids to just over 2,000 Euros, this one didn't reach its reserve.
