    That's an interesting challenge!

Lets see - I think it will be very hard.

Catch of September? I don't think it was even the catch of the day. My vote goes to @Pianist 2998-4 local pickup.

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-100-original-ck-2998.29830/

I'll wager that a 105.012-64 is available for sale well before we see such a nice, complete 2998-4 again.

Actually - unless @Gemini4 is planning to sell his....I disagree.

We should have a sweepstakes. Who calls the next rare Speedmaster to come on the market and presented here on the fresh kill table of OF?

Ok as I write I realize I got that backwards. Of the non LE references I reckon the rarest, as in least for sale over next 12 months, in order or rarity will be:

    2998-3 (none)
    2999-5 (none)
    Other 2998's (One each remaining)
    105.003-64 (None / one)
    105.002 (two+)
    145.012-68 (Two +)
    145.022-68 (Four +)

(Its a silly post - dont get too serious!)

I guess I'm partial to Alpha hands and transitional 7077 bracelets.

On the subject of rarity, seeing 2 "correct" 145.012-68 for sale will, IMHO, take the longest vs the others in your list. Few were made, near impossible to find. I believe the was a 145.012-68 CASEBACK sold on EBay within the last six months. Seeing even one of these "last of the 321s" come up would be big news. Two? Fogetaboutit.

BTW, there is a Meister 105.012-64 available from Alex in Holland on Chrono24. It's been available for quite a while. Perhaps a price of €18,000 has something to do with it.

Yes, I did see Pianist's catch - and yep that was a great one, for sure! Had to be on the ground for that one though. I think we can forget about another 2998 coming up under those circumstances for a long, long, long time. Like to know what the price was in the end just before I pronounce immaculate conception status on it. :) Couldn't have been the cost of a kidney as he cashed up, hopped in the car and the rest is history. I also need to find a benevolent grandfather.

What about the 105.012 "...considered to be the first moonwatch model that was actually worn on the moon by Buzz Aldrin..." quoted from fratellowatches.com Hahaha, gotta love the defining context!

Anyway, just snagged a 105.012-66 so I want it added to our "non-serious" list. :whistling:

Too late! It's out there now...

Perhaps a sweepstake as to when these prices might fall out of orbit.

I don't know if this is correct (besides the bezel), haven't verified any details and such, but came across this supposed 2998-3 on Instagram today...:whistling:

I was expecting this to go for around USD5500. Unless the market is cooling off, I think a good price was had for this 105.012-66

Is it just me or is the "Professional" text a different color than the rest?

    Vietnam Seller
    Tired Bezel
HF 66 case, that is not so desirable.
However I do agree I think it was a good price.....if it gets delivered

What's wrong with a Vietnam seller? With 855 feedbacks, mostly for expensive watches?

Obviously most potential buyers are outside Vietnam so they will need to factor the expense/risk of transportation.

Receiving a watch from Vietnam (or any other country where the seller is in a different country to the buyer) adds expense and uncertainty with customs duties.

Check out this sellers Rolex dials.

Now that you mention it, I can see that it has a colouring similar to the colour of the plots - a lighter but similar tinge. Hmmmmm? Has anyone seen that before?
