I’m curious, is the lettering of OMEGA usually so close together on a Constellation?

Best to spend some time looking at original Constellation's from all the Threads in this Forum Plus read and memorize Dennis's website on Constallations so you can spot good from bad.....my comment referenced the spacing between the correct OMEGA logo to the next line of printing.

Too much space

We all started where you are at.....it's a steep learning curve but the fog eventually clears.

Hello and apologies in advance if this question has been answered countless times before. I purchased this watch today, an Omega Constellation (1960) but I was surprised to note that the ‘N’ at the end of the Constellation didn’t have the curve. I assumed for this period that it would have it? I’ve been trying to compare it to others and have been getting confused. Any clarity would be much appreciated.

In the world of cars we'd call it a "ten footer"...meaning it looks good at ten feet but as you get closer things start to fall apart. I won't repeat what others have already said. It would be worth taking it to a watchmaker who is an expert in Omegas, and have the watch inspected inside to see what else might be wrong. They could correct the wrong crown issue for you right away. The broader issue is, can you get your money back. If not, enjoy it at ten feet and move on. If you, as you learn more, you find a correct dial (in any color) you might consider replacing the black dial and keeping the black dial for some future use.
