Hi all... i have become the custodian of 4 vintage omega after some recent family members passing

This one here was a 21st present to my father... so probably around 1964 ish.... depending on how long the shop in northern nsw (australia) had it available.

It probably hasnt been worn for over 20 years so dont know when it was last serviced. It runs fine and keeps good time as it is. I will get is serviced and give it a birthday soon, and I believe the model number is inside.

...however until then... any ideas on the model number here?.... I am new at this and cant tell yet the difference between a super duper rare vintage omega and just a regular awesome vintage omega.

I am very unlikely to sell this one as it has sentimental value... just would like to know a bit more about it.

Not super duper rare or valuable, but a nice genuine watch. The gold furniture on ss case is well appreciated around here. I would be very happy to have such a nice reminder of family.

Nice watch congrats. It is a “ front loading” reference don’t try to open the back. It is probably the “no date” version of 166.020 which has date. I’m not sure of the no date ref number. These were well sealed with this case and often movement remains in very good shape.

It’s a regular vintage Omega and probably a 165.020. Unfortunately the dial appears to habe been refinished which limits collector and financial value (although it’s hard to be sure from those pictures - do you have a clearer picture, face on?)

The minute marks seem very inconsistent and uneven which was why I asked for a straight on photo. We still don’t have that so I’d assume refinished until better pictures prove otherwise.

I see what you’re saying though, the actual text looks about right
