Sweet new watch. Might need one.

(Didn't realize this had been out for a week. Just saw it.)

That does look very faithful to the source material, price is a bit steep but it does look excellent. It looks like the Calibre L836.6 movement it uses is based on a heavily modified, hi-beat version of the ETA 2824-2 with a silicon balance among other things, which sounds like a pretty capable base for it.

It’s a nice watch but the originals are downright cheap so I’d go that route myself…

But I’m a vintage guy after all.

The vintage version.
Woah. the new one is a straight clone! I love that this is available, even if the old ones are cheaper.

$4k is hard to swallow for me.

Yeah, Longines has been getting expensive. The recent Oct 01 increase of about 8%, and an increase last year. They were a lot of watch for the money, and arguably under-priced compared to the competition. But now they're no longer a bargain. The new flyback chrono looks great, and has a turning 60 min countdown bezel, but it's 5500. Still a good price relative to other brands, but not cheap.

This ultra is intriguing to me because it has the more traditional case and it's a new build. But the 4k is tough.

Yeah, $4k for a Longines is rough, though they frankly ARE really nice/really well made. I have a Zulu time that I'm a big fan of both in quality and design.

This looks like it is supposed to be a down-market AT, which is $7k or so. So I guess it is about right when you consider Longines is effectively the Omega's Tudor.

That said, I REALLY appreciate that they are making Longines designs so unique/it has its own identity. I think they are doing a much better job at that vs Tudor.

I’m having a 4700 deal in my hand for the leather strap from my local retailer, will try it out in next several hours.

If it fit my wrist well, I definitely will get it, though I agree people considered it’s a lot of money for a Longines.

Still a few around …

….. but the design puts me in mind of an even cheaper option…..

particularly since I’d opt for the 37mm version

Unfortunately, I passed it.

The watch is nice, but the straight lugs makes it looked like sitting on my wrist.

Never know until you try it on. Some things you think will fit, don't, and things you think will never fit feel great.

Thanks for sharing.

To be clear, I think the size fits me well (6.6 inches round wrist), but wearing it feels uncomfortable. I think just a little curving will make the watch huge the wrist much better.
