I recent joined the forum to help me with research prior to me getting my first speedy. The wealth of knowledge is fantastic and thanks to those who have already help me out with a couple of queries. I hope to be able to get involved a bit more. I'm not a fan of the style of the factory bracelet so swapped it out for this nice leather rallye that I picked up very cheap on Etsy, on £10.95. It's great quality. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/199891612/rally-racing-straps-genuine-quality?ref=shop_home_active_4
Just noticed the Etsy seller has a UK website selling some nice bits and pieces at good prices. http://redroosteruk.com
Hello mate! Welcome to the forum from Dorset. There are quite a few of us UK blokes kicking around. Lovely Speedmaster and very nice leather strap.
Very nice! If you ever decide you want a NATO strap, you can get a two piece Bond from HNS for about the same price on eBay. I spent four years in the UK from 2011-2015, loved every minute of it. Golf, beer, people were awesome...
Very nice watch you have there and looks really good on that strap. I'm sure you will enjoy the forum as much as I do. Just completing the move across the counties I'm in Hampshire.
Thanks for the welcomes. I'm also from down south...based in Sussex. There's so much to read on this forum I'm sure I'll be around for a good long while.
I was in Suffolk for 4 years if it helps. London Golf Club is in Kent and I visited that gem five or six times.
::crackle:: Wiltshire here, with a second hand SMP arriving tomorrow! 2017 edition, ref. 212.30.41.20.01.003 Tonight will be the shortest night, and yet the longest ... Respects, Jas
Hmmm ... Jaguar. Car, Fender guitar, or a large carnivorous South American mammal with big paws and pointy teeth? Or am I still off target?
Ha, the four wheel variety bought by me in 1989 and made in 1963. Long term project with an aspiration to finish sometime. The older I get the less time I seem to have phenomenon seems to be pertaining to me presently...... I have been enjoying two wheeled fun of late with too many projects going on. I do enjoy coming here to look at the great pictures and watches that forum members have. I stick to two daily wearers a 1964 Speedy and 68 Submariner. Both bought on spec getting on for 20 years ago. I saw the Speedy in a shop window on Stockport and the day after went back and bought it. I did not even know about the moon connection until after I bought her. Now it only I could find the bracelet that fell apart in 1999... She is coming up for another service but for now she is getting lots of hammer as my daily beater. The Sub takes most of the wear in winter. Comes in handy while indulging in two wheeled fun!!! Best wishes, enjoy the forum and wear your watch in good health!!!
Cheshire calling in ,well Chester actually but its not a county . Welcome to the forum ( keeping the slightly Roman theme going ) and congrats on a great choice of watch & forums .
Welcome to the forum from Berkshire. Nice strap choice there. I would also recommend a Di Modell Rallye strap - high quality, waterproof and looks as though it was designed for the Speedmaster. About £20.
