Does any of you own one? What are the general feelings towards them? From the time I first saw one in a Omega dealers window in 1990, I knew I had to have one! I was doing my military service then, so watch-purchases was out of the question!

Took me 22 years to get one! Finally laid my hands on one last summer!





And with it's modern successor..



I really enjoy it! It's from a time in Omegas history, when the company was actually on the brink of bankrupcy, and still they managed to produce high class watches....

The only thing I'd change on those older SMP's is the Mercedes hands. The slightly later models had skeleton hands like on the Vancouver SMP LE which I prefer. That's just me though. The rest like the bezel, dial, and case are well matched.

Like this;-) Not my favorite Omega, but still got a soft spot for it...and it wears very nice indeed.

I agree!

I wear mine when I don't want to risk my 2254 getting beaten up, ie at our summer house, doing construction work and so on.

Ironically, it gets more "action-filled" wristtime than the 2254 that my family gave me for my 40th, And I'e ben FAR to careful with. Not wanting to ding such a nice present!

I just recently realised that I'll start wearing the 2254 without such exessive care, and let the scratches be "my" scratches so to speak!

I'm just not there JUST yet.....!

Hi and welcome,

I love these pre-Bond Seamaster (200M) models. However, most of them that I encounter on watch fairs and market places have a quartz movement.

Yes, aparently the production of auto movement Seamasters those days could be measured in promille!
