Looking at purchasing my first Omega and stumbled upon the Omega Speedmaster Racing Automatic Chronograph
326.32.40.50.06.001. First question is why is this model so much cheaper then other Omega offerings? I've seen these watches go from $2600-$3600 on ebay and Chrono24. Also does the rubber strap hold up well to daily use?

The base movement is derived from the ETA 7753, though modified by Omega and with coaxial escapement. Being a modified ETA movement powered watch is part of the reason these are a lot cheaper than the in-house Omega movements but it’s not a big deal really as these are good watches and the ETA base movement is a very solid, accurate and well designed one.

It’s the lack of exclusivity that drives the price down but that’s pretty irrelevant to the wearing experience.

The watch wears really thick for a 40mm. It's something like 15mm which throws the proportions off. I had the rubber strap on my FOIS for awhile and it held up pretty well. You could barely tell it was used after several months of wear.

Great looking watch, for sure.
Yes it is a speedmaster.
But it's not a moonwatch...
That explains 99% of the lower price.

That particular model is discontinued, and as others have stated it does not have the more current in-house Master Chronometer movement. That's largely why it is in that price range. The Speedmaster Racing line is still around, though. I have one and love it:
