Picked this one up recently. Somewhat of an odd bird - the case has probably been refinished since the typical sunburst brushing pattern doesn’t exist here. In its place is a quite refined circular brushing pattern that (to my eye at least) is quite attractive. Edges are still very sharp and crisp. The recess between the circularly brushed top face and the crystal has high polish, giving a bit of contrast.

When I bought it I had planned to send it to have the sunburst relapped, but now that I’ve worn it for a bit I’m more inclined to leave it alone. Although I usually try to go for strict factory originality this looks good enough to have been a factory option (undoubtedly wasn’t though).

One pleasant surprise was the thickness of the piece - my Speedmaster MkII and MkIV, and Mk4.5 are all considerably thicker. This wears rather well.

My fetish for Omegas from the 60s and 70s continues...

Cool watch. Nice to know it wears thinner as it looks like quite a chunk of metal.

Only 13mm, and the tall crystal probably accounts for 2 of that

Very nice, looks lovely. Is the bracelet original?

The bracelet is a vintage 1171. Not sure if the watch originally came with it, but it’s of the same period.

I’m actually thinking that a black leather racing / rally style strap would look good.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I've seen a couple of these hidden lug case types from older Breitlings, but they have always been rather chunky cumbersome watches.

Love the exotic colors on this one. Seeing the omega symbol in a different color than white is pretty neat too.
