Would suggest to put in new batteries first. Set correct time and date and check the accuracy. I you will detect the the watch is loosing time significantly, set up the time again and start the chronograph. If the chronograph runs okay, keeping time, but the analog part is slowing down, the issue would be in the motor or further - in the mechanical part of the movement.
If the digi and analog part is slowing down in parallel, then there is something with the electronic module or oscilator - this would mean the need of new movement, as this 1611 is almost non repairable.

I'm sorry to keep harassing you but..

Now there is a curious flaw, and it persists even after two total strip down inspections and ultrasonic/one dip/oiling.
At 8pm every night, just after 8:45pm, hour hand stops moving at the halfway point, the minute hand keeps going, and then the watch loses an hour the next morning.

There is a thread on another forum where the hour wheel has failed on a GMT model.
https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-gmt-seamaster-repair-advice-sought.36519/
Mine is almost similar

My 3 possible differential diagnoses are:
- Magnetized parts somewhere upsetting the gear train. I noticed the upper bridge screws are magnetized.

-Weak magnets on the minute wheel needing replacement (most likely because if you look at the design, there must be some resistance in the geartrain that occurs at 8:45pm).

-Wear or cracks somewhere that I cannot identify, or potential freeplay on the hour wheel

Any thoughts?

The craziness is that I just sold a NOS 1320 movement on ebay because I thought I had sorted this bugger!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, thats weird... never met this kind of issue. I do not get what exactly is happening after the 8:45pm. The hour hand stops and the starts to move again after one hour? Please describe in detail, what is going on between 8:45pm and 3 am. I think, that there is some blockage, when the date change mechanism gets engaged.
Does the quick hour hand set function (crown in 1st position) works okay? Date change is finished by midnight?
What is happening, if you move the minute hour hand by pushing the crown? Are you able to simulate the described issue with those tests, or it is occurring just in normal operating mode?
I would personally vote for option 3, something wrong in a gear train. Ultrasonic bath will not solve everything, please check the teeth under magnifier, if there is not some dirt or wear.
The screws are magnetized on mine too, you cant avoid. The kidney magnets - I think there is nothing to break down... weird!

Hi Aleksei,
If you will keep having issues with the 1611 then please note that I'm based in Melbourne.
I believe I had a similar issue and at the end it was a misalignment of the gears that was at fault. It can be confusing to put the movement back together the way it should be when the design allows you to fit parts one way or the other and still close the plate.

Hi Crazy,
I just received a NOS magnetic hour wheel and driving wheel, it ran fine for 2 days but last night had the same fault.

I am almost thinking that the motor doesn't have enough torque to push past the hour???? Or something is sticking somewhere???? It is a really WTF moment at this stage.

The hour hand gets stuck around 8:30PM each night and then clicks back to 8pm. The minute hand keeps going. It usually makes it through midnight but sometimes continues looping. Manually winding it sets the date beatifully.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAALP!!!!!

All I can say that's it's never the magnetic wheel. Happy to help if you feel in the mood to send the movement or module to Victoria.
I don't have a movement in front of me but know this one pretty well. Notice the difference in the riveted wheel next to the wheel that kicks the date disc. This riveted wheel has four pins but there are 2 of each height. Make sure you position the larger wheel in proper alignment against this riveted wheel as both options are physically possible but only one will change the date.
At 8:45pm the date mechanism starts to be engaged and I believe that is the problem you are facing.

No worries, I'll check it over tonight.
If it looses an hour at 8PM I'll contact you 😀

Cheers
