Y’all weren’t kidding, rubber strap is a game changer. Totally different watch...

Happy New Year!

Looks amazing! If you don’t mind me asking, did you order the standard length strap or is that the long one?

The reason I ask is because your wrist size is very similar to mine (7.75 I believe you said). Thanks.

I ordered the standard, didn't know there was a long one available. This one fits great!

Perfect. Which hole do you usually put your pin buckle in on that strap? Thanks.

No worries. I doubt you'll be disappointed with the strap, it's super comfortable.

Excellent. I’ve had my eye on it for a bit. Just as an FYI, it’s available in 3 variations: short, standard and long.

Given that my wrist is on the large side I wasn’t sure which to order but you’ve put my mind at ease.

Always glad to help, make sure and post pics of the new strap and your impressions once received.

Thanks, will do. With my local AD around here closed for now due to COVID I might have to wait a while.

I don't have a local OB, but I just contacted them by phone to place the order. They had it in stock and I received it in two days, just an option.

Great looking watch and a huge fan of this one. Congrats!!

One Q for the board is how people feel this stacks up to the new Sub? Is it a Sub killer? Or with the new movement -and assuming money no object - would you still prefer the new Sub?

I was underwhelmed by the new iteration of the Sub. I think everyone will agree that fit, finish, technology, and quality are arguably better on the Omega and by all accounts on par. I think the white dial is a legit sub hunter with the understated laser etching lines and conservative color. I know many prefer the Submariner's lack of helium escape valve, but I love the SMP's open caseback.

There is one thing the Sub has that Omega never will though. It says "Rolex" on the front. They are master marketers, and many people want that universal brand recognition.

Personally.....
The 300M Diver is a sub killer for me. Not because I desire it more per se on a one to one basis, but because for my 9.5K (assuming I can find one), I can buy a 300M on a bracelet, a rubber strap, and a Pelagos and still have about a 1000 bucks leftover. Now if I won the lottery and the AD had had only one 300M and one LV Kermit Sub left in store.....I'm going green

You can absolutely get 20-25% off of Omega. Dont go for 7% In most cases I am able to get 25% and no sales tax.

Not questioning you at all, but are you talking recently? I went to another out of state AD today, and everywhere I go (four AD's now) have very limited inventory. The AD's in SLC (yes, Salt Lake City, UT USA) seriously look like they have been robbed. Not just Omegas, but Tudor and Rolex as well, all cases awkwardly barren.

I fellow forum member turned me on to a internet seller (with warranty) that does have what I want for 22% off. I ordered a Pelagos from them separately just to see how I like the transaction and to verify the watch is as advertised. If all goes well, I will more than likely follow it up with my 300M Diver purchase as well. I just mention this because I can't get close to 20% from an actual AD right now. I was really hoping the SLC dealer would work with me, because they are the Rolex dealer and I'd love to establish a buyer history because the Pepsi is the stuff dreams are made of.

Of course Utah is one of the least affected states (economy wise) from the pandemic and business is booming here. Much of people's what would normally be vacation money is going on people's wrists and taking away my leverage. I'd honestly pay a premium to buy the watch locally for $4500 plus tax ($4840 USD OTD) to establish a relationship with my AD and support the community, but when they are only offering 7% ($5200 OTD) and I can buy the same watch brand new for 4k (no tax) on the internet, It's a no brainer. I'm sure a measly 5k watch wouldnt move me up any BRBO list anyway (at least that's what I tell myself).
