I'd always go Black over Blue especially with the last model but with the bond smc 300 I went blue and was really happy with my choice.
With this watch you could go either way but I do have to say the blue is very nice, Omega does a great job when it comes to blue divers.
G GammaI tried both on at the Omega boutique in London (Oxford St) and it may have been the lighting but I found the blue washed out, in particular when it came to the bezel. I thought the contrast between the black and the faux patina worked better and that the black would be a more timeless design. I’ve ordered the black (from somewhere else for a fair bit less) and am waiting for it to be delivered. I’ll post some detailed pics when it arrives.....
No difference that I can see with regards to the text readability between the two dial colours, that said, the blue (in my opinion) shows the depth of the dial better as the dark shadow on the sandwich dial shows up really well against the blue, as can be seen in the photos, whereas with the black dial they just blend into the dark dial.
I'm assuming ( because it is hard to tell ) that yours is black dialed.
I’ve got the blue dial version… shown here against my Speedy so it’s easier to see!
For those of you who have seen black and blue both in the metal….is the legibility much different. I am very interested in this watch and have held the blue on wrist, but only briefly. What has an inkling of doubt in my mind is the dial legibility and the perceived thinness of the sandwich numerals when I see video of the blue. Yet, the black dial comes up differently - seems crisper. Is that just a photo thing or does the black dial truly stand out more?
I have the black dial... when I tried both on it was a difficult decision but ultimately black won out because, well, I guess I am old and to my mind watch dials for the most part are typically black (as unscientific and illogical as that is).
I will say that the blue is gorgeous but I did find the black a touch more legible to my eyes.
