    Hey all,

Happy holidays! I had a few questions about the new seamaster rubber straps. First off, how much are they? I cant seem to find the price on omega's website. Are there any places you can buy these straps second hand, or is the only way through omega?

Also, I was wondering if there is a way to attach the seamaster clasp to a rubber strap, similar to how rolex rubber straps work. I have always liked a deployant clasp over a simple buckle. Thanks!

My AD charged me $250 for the strap and $50 for the buckle. For some reason the strap seems easy to get but there is a several week wait for the buckle. I’m not sure about using a clasp but it doesn’t seem the strap is designed in a way that would work.

I bought mine from the OB in Canada — came to over 400.00 all in and no spring bars were included, nor was installation. It’s a terrific strap though, makes a big difference in terms of weight and comfort, especially in the heat. Don’t see how the clasp would work on the strap, though there may be a deployment that does.

EDIT: I had tried two aftermarkets before I took the plunge. One was a poor fit, the other had poor finishing and uneven pin-holes. I hate the idea of paying more than 400.00 for a rubber strap, especially given the excellent quality of something like the Crafter Blue series for Tudors -- but in this case, the quality divide was pretty stark.

Should be about £200-225, that's what I paid for mine a while back (after some discount) and that included the buckle.

Nice. However, am I the only one that thinks that $175 for two pieces of rubber is a lot of money?

yeah, yeah, I know, I spent thousands on the watch, why be cheap now?

My local AD claims that they had to jump through hoops and it cost well north of $600 to obtain the official Omega rubber strap for a customer, complete with buckles and snaps and pins and everything else. That's a bunch of baloney, of course, but it's comments like that that make me want to go aftermarket, where I can buy one with one click.

So @duc, do you recommend zealande from personal experience?

Or try one of these for £40 from a well known auction site. Really can not fault it. Super soft and comfortable. I really can not see the point in buying the Omega version. And normally I'd always go OEM rather than a.n. other. The blue matches the blue of the watch well. Buckle is good too. Sorry for the poor pic. Too lazy to move to find decent light!

Personally yes. That said, they are very supple. I had an idea they would be more robust when I placed the order. Initially I thought they were too soft, but now that I've had it on for a few days, I appreciate it for what it is. I liked the one I bought for my Peter Blake well enough that I recently placed an order for a version that fits my 16610.

If cost is a real factor, than you may have to substitute fit for cost. ISOFRANE and Toxic NATO both offer great low cost alternatives. They are thicker but don't fit the case OD.

For OEM strap for the PO, I paid 250 for the strap and then another 200 for the buckle... yea, not a cheap hobby....

You have to decide for yourself if it's a "hobby" or you're wearing a watch made of good materials. If it's a "hobby" then who cares? If you're actually going to wear a watch, then make a decision about something that should last you a decade or more.

Omega makes good quality straps and bracelets. Other makers do as well. I've never seen a fake remotely approach the quality of OEM Omega.

It is up to you and your bank account whether a $300 strap is worth it. I have the deployant rubber for my Seamaster Professional 2254.50.00. It will literally last me the rest of my life even if I wear it every day. Mind you, I wash it often as well.

    Update to my earlier post;

WatchObsession sent me a comparison of the 'True Blue' ISOfrane and the 300m:

Looks good to me (sorry for the thread hijack).
