New Rising Sun - questions

OF folks,

I picked up a new Tokyo 2020 522.30.42.30.06.001 Rising Sun with cards, stickers, etc.

I love the watch. I'm still admiring it... haven't taken the stickers off or sized the bracelet yet. The whole package is a little alien to me with the unusual white Olympic box, etc.

A couple of the listings I've seen have a white Omega loupe in the pictures. Would that have been normal with a new 2019-era watch, or is this just window dressing?

best,
A6

No loupe in the Tokyo 2020 Speedmaster package.

Thanks so much. It looked like a neat bonus item, so I wasn't sure.

I might try to pick one up. They seem to be on eBay.

It's late for me so I'll get some pictures of the Rising Sun tomorrow. I'd say I'm doing a happy-snoopy-dance, but no Snoopy involved in this one. 馃榿

It's a great watch, one of the most unique Speedmaster's in many a year. Yes, let's see some pics.

Mine on a Himalayan crocodile strap with Artem deployant buckle.

That's a great watch! I went to Tokyo about a year ago looking to get one of these 5! I was able to see all of them in person.

Blue and green were my picks before I started shopping but just didnt pop. The Panda was about as nice as I expected, but Red and Yellow ended up shockingly becoming my favorite! Yellow won out for me, but this was a close second!

What was crazy was they were my bottom 2 online. But favorites in person.

I have a green Tokyo, an interesting grey/Sedna gold dial. Have it on a padded green Dollaro calf strap with green stitching. Just something different over the normal black dial jobs.

Yeah, that one and blue was the one I thought I'd leave with in advance. It looked great in photos, just didn't 'stick' with me as much as the Yellow (black with yellow gold) and Red.

Yeah, you never know what you like until you see something in person. Cars, watches, clothes, whatever, they all look different in person.

100% this! I've taken some risks and gotten lucky buying from pictures with watches, but gotten it wrong a few times 馃榾 I WILL say all but the blue were knock-outs to me, so I probably would have been happy with any of them! In my case, a group of my work associates were going to Jack Road/Nakano (I think?) anyway, so it was a good excuse to do some shopping while I was there. I was shocked that the stores ended up collectively having all 5!

Panda was toughest to find. And ironically, the yellow was the first watch in the door at the first store we walked into (one with a cool camera store upstairs!), and I loved it, but spent the rest of the day finding the others, to just go back to the 'first' one I saw!

Interesting to hear your experience with the blue Tokyo Speedy, @ErichKeane. That one has interested me, but I have not seen it in person.

Definitely one I suggest checking out in person, as @Evitzee said, the personal preference on these is going to be the biggest part, but it just kinda fell flat to me.

The 'starburst' of the blue was much more muted than I expected, and didn't 'shine' in any of the ones I saw. It was a little 'plain' and felt very '90s' to me. Honestly, it just seemed plain and boring, and the blue made it seem/look cheap to me.

The Panda was the Panda, it is exactly as advertised. Its a good looking watch, but it doesn't really do all that much for me. The Green one was my "oh man, this one might even be nicer than blue!" before I went. However, I found the gold on grey dial to be tough to read and didn't really have anything on the dial that 'popped'. As nice as the green bezel was, the dial let it down for me.

I had basically the same complaints on the red one, but red is my favorite color, so it got a little bit of a boost.

The black/gold ("yellow" ring) though, was love at first sight. The gold absolutely POPS out on the black background. I usually don't look good in gold, but the light accents of it are fantastic with my skin tone for some reason, in a way gold just DOESN'T for me. The printing on the sub dials sticks out really nicely, and the red on the chrono hand also just sticks out.

Frankly, for me, this one is just absolutely gorgeous and 2nd place wasn't close.

Good morning, everyone.

Such beautiful watches. I'm a little frustrated trying to photograph this frosted dial. My normal go to is a light box. That's not working too well.

And a family shot.

I ordered a burgundy alligator deployant strap last night, similar to what came in the 5-pack of these Tokyo watches.

But for now, it's on a red striped NATO strap.
