I still can't for the life of me understand why anyone here cares about this post farming unless the OFFENDER 😲 goes on to attempt to sell items. I recently saw a couple of members here harassing some poor guy who had been a member for well over a year and had never shown any interest in "POST FARMING," yet they dogged him like a criminal who was attempting to scam little old ladies out of their social security checks. Begs the question: Which is more concerning, those policing the number and frequency of forum posts or those creating the innocuous posts? It all reminds me a lot of an old man sitting on his porch screaming, "YOU KIDS.....GET OFF MY LAWN!" when they're ball rolls into his territory. Lighten up, Franceses. PLEASE LIKE MY POST. heh

I'm pretty sure a few of you really need to get laid.

You don't have to understand why and you asking why tells already it's pointless to explain it. Now go search how often I screamed "get off the lawn" in the past 5 years. But every now an then I do, for good reasons ( not the lawn). And I get laid on a regular basis, it's not that simple .

Then show your fueled interest, everyone will notice it. Might though work out better if you take more time than 60 seconds between two post in random threads.
I mean, let's not go all Nazi on this. Let him participate however he wants to. You called it, he explained it, as far as I'm concerned he can take as little or much time to respond as he wants to....I do.

I think the answer can be found on Instagram 😁

Edit to add: but this doesn’t mean it isn’t post farming ! Likes may be removed accordingly 😁

I think some of the frustration is when you hit the latest messages tab and there are 50 posts that originated three years ago with new responses that say “yeah!” “I like it” or “looks good” and nothing more.

I can appreciate that my posts aren't the most insightful and that I'm not as learned as some other members on here. That being said, I enjoy being part of the community and learning. Vintage watch collecting is a hobby and one that I take great pleasure in. I think the question here is motive; to set the record straight I'm not "post farming", I'm experiencing a period of isolation and I'm using the forum as a way to connect with the outside world. I have no motive to sell any of my pieces and I would hope that I can continue to participate in this forum without fear of judgement or reprisal.

Don’t take it personally @Candle00 -
I was accused of post farming early in my time here (and later on again)- and my posts tend to be anything but 2-3 word replies but can border on novella. What nobody knew is that I was was on leave from work with a chronic back injury, stuck at home and feeling isolated...this forum was a perfect panacea and many were welcoming and have become friends. We all go through times where we feel like we needing to engage with others, even if we have nothing of gravitas to share. Sometimes it’s just about feeling a sense of belonging.

it’s ok. Just ignore it. We’re all about as isolated and bored as you are. One mans opinion ( or ten men’s opinion) does not add up to reality..........

.......just don’t sell for a bit and enjoy the ride.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and share that insight. I think now more than ever it's about community and a sense of belonging and I'm thankful that I have this forum as an outlet and an opportunity to connect with a bunch of folks that share the same passion as me.

Post Police

Some obviously haven’t been here long enough to see the join Friday and see it’s a 200 post limit to sell, and still want to list and sell the watch by Sunday. 😗
Log on and see every thread in the first two pages weird threads from three years ago with a emoji added. 😗

Maybe those so called “Post Police” have helped make this the cool forum it is 👍

I get the sense that not everyone understands what “post farming” is in the first place, and so can’t understand whether the means justify the ends.

Least of all those who have been members less than 3 months...

You are good, I got the same thing. I’m well over 200 posts never sold a watch here but did buy a few. I was in a tough spot when I joined and also just looking for some distraction. Stay well this thing like all other things shall come to pass

New chum @TXwatchfan seems keen to crack on towards 200. Judging by the multiple posts about 36mm Omega divers I am guessing he has an Omegamatic or mid size SMP to sell. All one line posts too.

Not the worst offender but still be aware that obvious post farming is frowned upon...

I'm not the most "qualified" person to reply here as I'm under 200 posts but I had to mention that I find it incredibly entertaining and funny when the veterans take a guess at what the post farmers want to sell.

it’s almost as entertaining as trying to guess where the economy is heading (inside joke) 😜

1/2 pack of stale Skittles, a bag of beef jerky and a Diet Coke....wait, are we guessing?

It keeps us entertained I guess. Imagine I how smug I will be if his post 201 is...
