New vintage purchase of a very rare Certina DS288 with its 25-681 caliber, which was a derivative of the 25-671, the first high-frequency movement launched in 1971. Production of the 25-681 and its derivative ended in late 1973. The DS 288 incorporated all the qualities of the DS2 with a shock-resistant suspension system around the movement, a robust and water-resistant case, and a high-frequency movement. The Certina 288 was only in production for two years. This is a rare piece with its original caliber, as over the decades, parts for the 25-671 and 25-681 calibers became impossible to find and were often replaced by 25-651. This one has its original 25-681 caliber and its rare stamped NSA bracelet.
