Would you say it’s about the same as mine or less noticeable?
Nothing like the play on yours. They need to fix that for you.

Wanted to share an update here:

My Omega Boutique agreed to exchange the original watch for the other example they had in stock that fortunately has a much better bezel build quality.

I'm pleased with the fit + finish and action of the replacement piece and consider the matter resolved.

Replacement watch bezel video

I did tell the Boutique manager that Omega Corporate should be aware that my first Reddit post got a ton of views and hundreds of overwhelmingly negative comments, including from previously interested buyers that were turned off. Hopefully they recognize that there is a QC problem or - if they consider my first watch's bezel to be within spec - that the community won't stand for these kinds of poor tolerances.

Thanks to everyone who commented and shared their perspectives.

If you are in the market for one of these, DEFINITELY check out the bezel fit & finish and action before you pull the trigger.

I do love everything about the watch and, with a proper bezel now, look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

Felt the need to add to this post, as I've had a very recent experience.

Purchased the orange version of this watch in December.

My bezel isn't as bad as the original poster's blue version, but not far off. More a case of vertical than lateral movement here.

Slightly in denial about it all, but currently having various levels of inconvenience (no fault of the dealer) getting things sorted.

Really pushed the boat out on this purchase - wondering if I should have waited for any 'teething' production issues to get sorted.

Thanks to the original poster for flagging this issue - hopefully Omega will take note.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you can get it resolved. It's really a shame that such an important launch has been marred by the bezel issues.

I posted this on Reddit but wanted to get everyone’s opinion here (assuming it’s not exactly the same audience!)

I love most everything about the new PO but wanted to see if other owners are seeing the same kind of side to side bezel play that I am. I’m used to some rotational play - my 8500 PO has that - although my SMP 8900 is bank-vault tight.

But this kind of looseness seems like it does not belong on a $10k watch, like the insert is ever so slightly too large.

My boutique says that every example they have in stock shows the same kind of play, and I checked out another one to confirm. They also said that other customers have remarked upon it.

They are not sure if it is something service would/could fix, and I’m not especially keen on waiting 3 months after just dropping this kind of cash.

Curious to hear from other owners if they’re having the same experience.
Thanks for the video demonstration.
I'll be a little contrary here and say that i find it to be an ideal situation.
Particularly when it comes to potentially flushing out dirt, sand and muck under running water.
Omega aren't entirely stupid.
Perhaps it's an intentional design consideration or feature of the model?
As long as it centralises itself all the time and visually it's not offset i wouldn't be concerned.
But i'd be curious as well rather than leaning toward criticism.

In a mass produced product, some issues are inevitable. It’s how they’re dealt with that matters and I’d say the boutiques response to this has been outstanding.

How often do you think most places would swap you out for a new watch? Almost never. It would usually go away for warranty repair. To get it switched for a new one is excellent service and I’d be over the moon

True - in this case I felt well taken care of.

I was happy that they exchanged it but as a flag to potential purchasers of this model - it should be noted that the OB did not admit that the watch was faulty; it was a regular exchange within the 14 day period.

For all I know, they put my original watch back on the shelf.

They don't, returns in that period go back to a service center for refurb. My sales guy doesn't know where it goes after that though, I suspect they are sold as 'returns'/'seconds', perhaps to greys.

I wondered the same, as I had assumed that Omega would not put out a sloppily QC'd product. But no one at the OB could say one way or the other if it was intentional, and the vast majority of other owners I polled said that their bezel had no play.

And my own expectation for a watch at this price is that the build quality would be exceptional. My original bezel was really loose (like it could almost rattle around) - I'd never seen anything like it before on a watch at any price point.
