These actually look pretty cool but they need to be 42mm and 14mm thick. Current size is still too big.

The current 8900 43.5 is basically a 42mm case and bezel with 1.5mm integrated crown guard. Definitely wears like a 42. The height is part of the PO character.

I like the grey dial, looks cool. But the size is unwearable for me. Too bad they don't have these colors in the 39.5mm version.

Interesting strategy with the boutique exclusivity. I wonder if the upcoming white dial Speedmaster will be a boutique exclusive!!!

Plainly, the height of the current Planet Ocean makes it unwearable for a vast number of people.

Additionally, the original 2500-series POs were highly wearable, as the proportions of their cases were more similar to the Speedmaster.

Given that this is using the original 'Professional' case Seamaster 300 aesthetics (165.024), it would make sense for them to make it more accessible to a wider clientele, like they have with the Speedmaster.

Interesting silent release. The green one would have been cool if it had a green dial.

Apparently, they also come in chronograph variants:

I’m wondering why the beige one has a much higher price; specs seem to be the same among them.

Looks like it could be a lumed bezel.

Outside of the Omega world 14mm is still a tall watch.

I'll say they really need to be 39.5mm. That was the perfect size for most people (big and small wrists alike).

This depresses me. I was hoping for new POs this spring but with these minor releases it seems less likely. I don’t get the green or khaki. Legibility seems suboptimal.

Kind of a strange release:
- The Omega fanbase was hoping for a revamped Planet Ocean line (thinner, smaller versions as well, Omega Steel as in the Ultra Deep). Unfortunately did not happen.
- With more and more colours to choose from Omega is bloating up its collection. Way too many references to choose from.
- the colours are not really «dive watch» colours.
- the grey / gunmetal colourway seems similar to the SMP 300 special editions (like the one for the danish king)
- green is obviously a thing
- I don't get the beige variant. looks rather femine. but for women these watches are way too big

The sand colour one is my favourite. The bezel looks almost the same colour as the X-33

The grey chrono would be a really interesting watch if it were a reasonable size. 45mm is doable if you really love the watch; 19mm thick is insane!

Tagging along with this thread, there's a new AT announced. It's the olive green dial AT but on 38mm size and this time it comes with a rubber strap.

Bracelet version also available.

And yet weirdly they don’t seem to have introduced the same green olive strap for the 41mm version… says the bloke who just paid for the black strap to go with his 41mm olive green AT!!

(I actually don’t mind as in the flesh I’m really pleased with the contrast of black strap and olive dial!)

Yeah...idk why they also wouldn't just come out with a green rubber strap for the 41mm. Seems like an easy way to get additional sales since a lot of ppl prefer to wear rubber straps over leather now.
