For beauty, durability and value, sapphire rules the roost...they are all moonwatches...

Enjoy.

I’d argue that the of those factors, only the durability is better in the sapphire version. Value seems to be better with the Hesalite version given the price differential. But that likely leads to an argument about price vs. value.

As far as beauty, the lack of the ring with the Hesalite and the way it really allows the dial to stand out far outweigh the embossed logo and exhibition back. I much prefer the entirely brushed bracelet of the Hesalite as well.

Either is an outstanding option and is one of the best values in a watch available today.

Seems like a lot of people (mostly newbies) overestimate the “durability” of sapphire. It is not a durable as people think.

The new Speedy did a slightly better job of reducing the milky ring, but I suspect that’s only due to a thinner crystal.

I think anytime you have a domed crystal, it looks a lot better with hesalite. One could argue that sapphire looks better with anti reflective coating, but I never understood the point of that since the coating scratches easer than sapphire.

Believe it or not, as explained few posts ago I decided for Hesalite, and few days after purchasing Moon, THIS happened to my Seamaster PO AR coating... I don't know how, when, what... I just spotted it... Hesalite is still pristine after 1 month and I can assure you, not even close sensitive as some guys here saying (like people say shirts are scratshing it... I call BS...)..
Anyways, Sapphire is amazing for durability, it's AR outer coating that is a problem, but when it comes to Moonwatch, Hesalite is the way to go.

Two superb options. I went with the Sapphire because I liked it. Either way I don't think I'll make it to the moon, or be called on to walk in space. Suffice it to say I have no regrets, the Speedy Pro is the classic Omega watch, looks great in any setting, short sleeves or tuxedo, and it keeps good time too. I have both the leather band and the steel bracelet which gives me the flexibility of dressing it up if I want to.

I went with the hesalite but probably would have been happy with the sapphire also. You can’t go wrong with either.

I think I would choose sapphire for the durability and also to enjoy looking at the movement

Really they are both excellent but price wise the extra 1000 for sapphire back and front and the AML is hard to justify if on a budget.

Price wise might be hard to justify sapphire. Was in a similar predicament and bought both in the end. I find myself wearing the sapphire version more, something about the polished parts on bracelet attracts me more.
