Still didnt answer my question

Well I am sorry. I don't have a Submariner or SMP, but have a couple of breitlings (Chronomat Evolution, and Colt) and an Omega Deville. As I have said, this gets the majority of my wrist time as it is very comfortable. I really like the micro adjustable bracelet. As my wrists change slightly daily, you can really get just the fit you want.

I was wondering about the different bezel insert.

Do you mean the different bezel insert on the Spectre LE? 1-12 instead of 10-50?

Well one is a "LE" edition to "re-create" the one featured in the new James Bond film "Spectre" (which opens next week), and the other is the regular version.

As much as I like James Bond, I am not a fan of the LE "bond" version. I think the regular 60 minute bezel is much more practical to me. But other people may want the 12 hour bezel to wear like a GMT dial. Different strokes for different folks. Additionally, I dislike the larger Omega logo in the Bond version. I do like the lollipop hand though. The bond version also has a brushed bracelet instead of the PCL bracelet.

Both bezel's are liquid metal ceramic dials and should serve many years of service well.

I'd love a regular-dial SM300 with the lollipop hand, and maybe the 0-12 bezel - but I can't get behind the large logo or the Bond stuff all over it.

Funny enough, trying on the Spectre sold me on the regular one - either model on a bracelet is a blingy, heavy, hateful watch but it turns right around on the NATO, into a truly great vintage-inspired diver... I will have one of these, perhaps next year 😀

Many have said that a combination of the regular Version and the LE would be the best combination. I fully intended to get the LE version but after trying it it didn't really feel like it was worth the extra money. The bond branding got on my nerves a bit too. I bought the standard version on the bracelet and an extra leather strap. I really love this watch and I don't think the PCL are too noticeable either.

"Make two watches that separately feature elements of one perfect watch" seems to be the business model these days, especially with Rolex...

Why are the bezel inserts different?

Because the one I have is the Spectre limited edition apose to the standard SM300.

That's interesting, all the red about the Titanium feel. I haven't tried it on but I can see how it would be an odd feeling as it is described.

I think it's odd only if you come from "knowing" the weight of a steel watch on a steel bracelet. I have only ever owned the original DSOM and a ti PO. Every time I try on a steel watch with steel bracelet, I find it offensively and unwearably heavy.

I tried out a ti SM300 and just couldn't make myself love it. The black just looks better to me on that watch than the blue.

The perfect SM300 for me would be the non-Bond version, black but made of titanium on titanium bracelet, with brushed center links and lollipop second hand. Oh yeah, and non-"patina" luminova.
(Can someone photoshop that??)

If it had a date function, I would pay another grand for it.
