Perhaps this book will confirm if these bezels are actually identical! I think not 😁
Are there enough examples out there go get proof?

I am very excited to announce that the time has finally arrived for a book dedicated to the SM300.
‘A Collectors Guide to the Seamaster 300. The Vintage Years 1957 - 1970.’
It will be a printed book, with myself as publisher and co-author in conjunction with our very own Kim @kox, arguably one of the world’s foremost experts on this historic Omega model (could such a book exist without him?) along with input from a small handful of important collectors.
Kim and I have completed the initial discussions/concept and are now moving forward, compiling the large amount of information, research, photographs and tables required.
In an effort to fill the current void of detailed information on this very important Omega model, we will cover all the vintage SM300 references, sub-references, parts variations and serial numbers from 1957 to 1970 including military variants.
We are very happy to make this initial announcement here on Omega Forums, the home of real enthusiasts, collectors, connoisseurs, scholars and neo maxi zoom dweebies!

Hi @Dash1 and @kox

in general a great project and one of my fav models. when and where wilit be published ?

one important thing, you speak of research ... would love it you could explain a bit more the basis and sources in detail e.g.
- is it done with the heritage team of omega ?
- anything confirmed by omega ?

would be too sad if one reads nonsense like "the bezels of 2913 are made of bakelite"

Count me in for one. Work that, as many other have said, is long overdue. I look forward to knowledge being consistent across the collector world.

Keep up the good work you have already done!

Great news Ash and I look forward to it. It's about time my basic SM300 post came to life...........

https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread....mega-Seamaster-300-including-Military-watches

As a now retired Graphic Designer/Design & Print Consultant I would offer to help but fear my technical knowledge may now be out of date as computers have moved on so much.

My last book produced in the mid 1990s was "The Rich Designs of Clarice Cliff" which won a European Print award. I was responsible for the book design and print production and it was a great project.

You should have a lot of fun (and possibly a few headaches) but it will be a great achievement when completed so good luck to Kim and yourself with the project.

Hi Guys,

I am glad to tell you that there will be launched another book soon.

It is some sort of "30 mm Chronometers Only" but I have to omit the "Only" because this is some sort of protected brand name already for the books written by Rossier and Marquié.

The book will exceed 500 pages (containing about 900 images) and will be similarly comprehensive as Moonwatch Only...
the price will be in similar range

Will come bilingual in English/German

Don´t worry - my poor school English was lectured/corrected by 2 different native speakers to please even those who speak Oxford English 😉
More details will be unveiled soon.

The book should be launched well before X-mas - now you know what to ask Santa for (or the Christkind, for those who speak German)

In order not to hijack and clutter the OP: If you want to pre-order a copy please do it via private message (PM) only.

And of course hats off for that Seamaster 300 book - huge congrats!

Yes, research was done with the Omega heritage team - nearly all watches confirmed by the Omega Archives - except those where the microfilm was unreadable or damaged - this happens for a very small number of watches as we know from experience....
