Thanks for the heads up. Just bought one. Been waiting for the Kizzi to get back in stock. For $30 shipped I'm willing to check this one out.

Thank you. I also took the plunge. Weak Aussie $ didn't help but I couldn't resist.

These turned out better than expected, and at a really reasonable cost, while still being made in the U.S. with all mil spec materials.

I really like the strap. It's comfortable and available for a great price. The only thing is I wish the hook material was a little longer. It's only about the length of 2 quarters. It feels secure but I wish this part of the strap had a longer length of loop material. That said, you can't go wrong for $30

Cenzo, looks great on your Speedy!

As for the hook, it should be more than enough. We matched the original NASA spec for these watchbands exactly and they were tested extensively in the 60s and recently with our replicas. That being said, there may be room for an improved design in a more updated version when we explore doing other color combinations.

confirm they are fire retardant Velcro as alluded to as being mil spec?

The loop is mil spec A-A-55126, TYPE II CLASS I, which is 100% nylon. Only class II has aramid and required not to burn or melt.

got it. Nasa Apollo spec was fire proof and my understanding is unobtainable, I was not sure if that had changed.

Are these Velcro straps comfortable on the wrist? Breathable? Do they make Velcro like noises when you move around?

No noise when you move about. I find them slightly less breathable than the Omega NATO that comes with the watch. Maybe I just have been wearing it too tight. Been wearing since Friday and find it very comfortable overall.
