·Hullo! I recently bought an old Minerva, I presumed a DH with a radium dial. When I got it home, the dial looks suspiciously new, so at least a redial I thought. But got thrown off by the lume (usually fake patina looks a bit different to me.) Also I couldn't find any other Minervas with the seconds on the 9 (not sure if that is a good or bad thing).
It's wristwatch but in a hunter case, so some kind of marriage pocket watch job I thought. I was expecting to find a fake movement, and opened it up and found the following . I immediately thought it looked way too new for a 1930s/40s movement and no Minerva markers etc., so case closed. But on closer inspiection, but it does look similar to some Minerva models on Ranfft like https://ranfft.org/caliber/7897-Minerva-12-open-face - there are some small markings under the balance but can't make them out
So it's either in very good condition for it's age, or it's a fake movement with a redial. What you folks reckon? Thanks so much!
