Hi everybody! I've been a reader of these forums for a while but never really posted anything. I was never really a quality/luxury watch guy until I discovered the Omega Speedmaster. I am a big space nerd and work in the space sector. One day I was walking on 5th Avenue in New York and noticed a store display that had some great photos from the Apollo era. When I walked up to the display I noticed that the display were for these non-assuming looking watches that matched what the astronauts were wearing in the photos. At that exact moment, I knew I had to have one of these on my wrist! I was a bit shocked when I looked up the price (I always wore the same Seiko Automatic, which I thought was expensive at ~$100) but the bug got me. The combination of already enjoying my Seiko and being a giant space nerd (I also collect Apollo era items, so.. I was doomed/destined!) made it inevitable that I have one of these. So here I am, a few years into Speedmaster ownership. I've owned several at this point (145-022-69T, and two 3572.50). My favorite Speedmaster is the 3572.50. First, because I love the sapphire back. Being able to look at the movement multiplies the joy of looking at my timepiece. Second, the polished movement pieces of the 1863 look amazing. Third, it's the only sapphire case back that is "correct", it says "First Watch Worn On Moon", whereas the later versions say "First and Only Watch Worn On Moon" which is incorrect. Here are some random Speedytuesday photos from my instagram account. 145-022-69T and 3572.50 on top of a checklist flown on Apollo 8 3572.50 with actual Silver Snoopy Award from 1970 and an American flag flown on Apollo 11
