Hello everyone! I joined today, after reading posts the past couple of weeks. I've been getting more (too much) into watches since I bought a Trilogy 1957 Railmaster in 2021, my first purchase, which has become my every day watch. I've always been driven to Omega though. My grandfather was a goldsmith and actually manufactured Omega cases back in the 1950's in Argentina. The case was made in Argentina and Omega would import the movements from Switzerland. Not sure if this has happened with any other countries. I still own one of the watches he made, very classic. Maybe I can post a picture later!
    Anyway, great to be here.

Thank you Jim! I didn't realize about Australia and other countires but makes sense. Thought it was one of those Argentinean oddities! I know he also manufactured for Jaeger (my brother has one of his). Can post a picture of mine.
I've been relatively good at not buying more watches, but have definitely spent too much time looking at watched and too much money on bracelets, straps and accessories !! I think it has to do with the RM being quite versatile, but also with the original bracelet not being super comfortable.

Looks like my reply got zapped due to the other post getting dumped in here, no worries.

Be nice to see examples of locally cased watches.

I just took some pictures of the watch with the case my grandfather made back in the 50s. Put it next to the 1957 RM for reference. Funny to see the same logo on both since they are contemporaries!
