    Hi all,

After 12 years of dependable service, it was time to retire my trusty Nikon D 5000. As a hobbyist, that camera served me well and I learned quite a bit with it. I’m still a hobbyist but I decided to take a slight step up with the purchase of a Nikon D 5600. It fitted my limited budget and I think it will certainly be an upgrade from my older rig but will still feel familiar. I managed to get a decent kit with a few lenses, a better flash, some filters etc…can’t wait to put it to the test.

Maybe one day I'll get back into photography. My D7000 (which is also now around 12 years old) has sat in a closet for at least half of that time now, only to come out on a few rare occasions.
Part of me blames the fact that I don;t have a lot of spare time anymore, and the other half blames my iPhone.
It will never hold up to a DSLR, but damn it still takes good pictures for what it is. Much easier to carry around too!
Congrats on the new bits! Now lets see some shots!
