i am not sure if I am late to the party or what, but I was just over on the Omega website to check out if price increase impacted a number of models on my list, and when checking the Moonwatch I noticed a “Professional Moonwatch” engraving on the case back... that I had never seen.
Is it me, and I had completely missed this… or is this new??

 

I just checked and the Speedy I just got (which was delivered to AD back in March) has that. Sorry I cannot add to whether that is a new change or not.

 

It must be a relatively recent change...I received my Moonwatch new in 2015 and fellow Navy rotorhead @ChuckMK23 received his Moonwatch new in 2016...neither of our Moonwatches have that engraving.

 

Yup - looks like a new ‘feature’. I wonder if its to date casebacks.

Have you pulled the case back off and looked inside - is it still 145.022?

First I’ve heard of it. Good thing they added that text in the event anyone forgot which speedy they were wearing. And there wasn’t enough existing clutter on the caseback.

 

My 2017 model has it. Maybe they changed it when they went to the 'suitcase'.

 

Been around about 2 years. There is a question to if they are swappable with older cases. I think they have the niad system so they align correctly. Or they might have different threading.

 

Not a NIAD system, I think the case backs state if it is a NIAD system. My case back is slightly 'off' from perfect centering.

 

Just checked mine and it does not have it. Mine is a 2011 model I think.

 

Got mine Oct 2016 and it does not have it.

 

I believe Omega transitioned to the ‘suitcase’ [presentation box set] in 2014...therefore, it appears that the ‘PROFESSIONAL MOONWATCH’ engraving came about after the transition to the ‘suitcase’.

 

My Pro (bought 2017) has this. But I was in a WoS boutique about 18 months later where I saw the same watch without it! I presume this would have come with the 'suitcase?'

I'm pretty sure they added this in very late 2016 or very early 2017. I remember getting mine in September 2016 which didn't have the new text and by January 2017 threads were popping up on here asking why the watch now said the new stuff on the case back.

 

my watch from november 2017 does not have this.

 

Insignia is supposed to be the omega symbol overlaid with planet earth...
