I’m not a watch winder person at all... except for this one. Wanted one for years before this one popped up, I definitely didn’t get a bargain price on it but’s it’s an itch that’s needed scratching for quite some time. It’s presumably for the DeVille tourbillons with the rotating blue “seconds hand”... Given how rarely I’ve seen these appear it makes me question whether they were actually for sale or if they were Omega boutique visual merchandising props, does anyone know? Anyway, I don’t have a DeVille tourbillon and likely never will, so my power reserve model will have to do:
Two D cell batteries. The base plate has a captive recessed knurled thumbscrew to get it off, and the batteries just sit right there in the wood base. Combination of that and the Radio Shack hobbyist style on/off switch on the back looks like it wasn’t something mass produced, which is made me question whether it was ever sold in boutiques or if it’s a retired store prop
There's a similar one here for sale. Not nearly as nice, and looks like you'd have to McGiver a watch base onto it. http://www.phoenixgalleryparkcity.c...er-3355.html?zenid=jd0vrtf39r63mjg8l01d3sube7
