Thanks to the great article above, I was mesmerized by this reference
After a quick ebay alert, I hit purchase right away, and the watch arrived shortly after.
Will share some pictures.

was concerned about what seemed to be a dial damage around 2o'clock, and from what I can see it is not actually dial damage and think that it could be removed pretty easily.

this was the seller's photo and below is mine:

it does seem like some simple debris.

however there are some more surface damage around the center of dial, which was not apparent in the photos provided..

do you think these could be sorted with gentle dial cleaning? hope it is something superficial.

Also, the bracelet provided with the watch has broken endlinks, any ideas on how to fix this problem??

Great thanks in advance to everyone.

PS> the watch does look amazing in person, took the pictures under harsh lighting condition to exaggerate the dial imperfections. I really love the 3-dimensionality of the dial markers and the depth it provides.
looking forward to solving the bracelet problem, dial and of course the crown!

Can’t see very well what is up with the endlinks, I’d probably just take it to a watchmaker if it has some issues there, if it’s serious I’d take it up with the vendor.

Dial wise, I wouldn’t try to clean it, that’s a pretty nice vintage dial.

First and foremost, thanks for the reply!

as for the endlinks, compared to the picture below, the above ones have the "wings" broken off so they fling around with nothing to keep them in place when attached to the head.

i will have to take it to a watchmaker, i guess.

as for the dial, still torn apart as to what i should be doing, maybe keeping as is would be the better idea i guess.

Oh I see so it can rotate about the lugs. Probably could be fixed but might be more cost that its worth to do so, does it make a noticeable difference on the wrist as when worn your wrist shout sort of hold the end in place to some extent? If its not sitting right I’d bring it up with the seller and see what you can do.

when on wrist, not much difference thankfully.
just when it is off the wrist it is quite noticable.
maybe i'll just live with it, then.

maybe figureout a workaround to keep it fixed, in a reversible way like using double sided tape or something like that.

will post more pictures when i sort it out, might take a while though..🙁

thanks again for your guidance, dsio.

One needs to be particularly careful when attempting to "help" blue dials of this type, they are very susceptible to further damage.

This is very true, metallic blue dials tend to be the first to flake off in general

It's a beautiful vintage watch dial. You can't expect perfection. It is best to embrace the imperfections, or collect modern watches. I would wear that watch any day. It is a beauty! Congrats!

Thanks a lot! I will enjoy it, and try to embrace the imperfections, as many have advised.
You're right, vintage is vintage and I guess I can't expect perfect.
