·Just in time for Christmas I've taken delivery of this 1968 cal.552 Seamaster 120. Seems to be in decent original condition and I'm a very happy boy.
I definitely need to swap out that leather strap though. Looking around online at other examples it seems that originally this may have been fitted with a 1069 bracelet with 524 ends. (lug width is 19mm) Can anyone confirm this? Would I be right in thinking that same bracelet was fitted to speedmasters as well?
I'm fairly new to collecting so hoping someone can tell me more about original bracelet options and modern replicas. I'd love to put an original on it but realistically the expense might not allow it, so is there any good aftermarket options out there. I'll probably put a Nato on it for the time being but think I'd like a stainless bracelet in the long run.
