    Dear Respectable Members:

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my newest addition to the Pie Pan Connie family.. This "chance buy" came up from a German eBay seller which ended suddenly after it had been listed.. Luckily I had been watching it, and knew it was something a bit special.

So I contacted the seller who agreed a fair price. Incidentally it needed a full service and crown repair....now it's keeping perfect time thanks to stefan

What initially attracted me to it was the combination of white gold arrowheads and original black dial and crosshairs, with just the right amount of patina to the dial. I have always wanted the similar combination pole-router by Universal Genève as i thought it looked stunning..I decided to swap a BOR from one of my other watches to give it an all steel look!

Here are some pictures of the 2852, I hope you enjoy them:

Unfortunately I was unable to really capture the beautiful dial in these pictures. The way the light captures the light across those white gold arrowheads/black dial is something pretty special, I just have to drool each time...:D

    Love the Stones underneath.
    question:
Is German ebay included when I select "Worldwide" on
ebay US? Now that I think of it, I can't remember seeing
    to many German listings?

    sublime beauty.

will one of the Constellation cognoscenti enlighten me regarding the difference between the case of the ref 2852 and the ref 2887?

2887 is the screwback version while 2852 is snapback. 2887 much more uncommon- probably 50 to 100 2852s for every 2887. Have not confirmed it but 2887 may also take a slightly larger dial. Case style is the same save for the caseback.

Rare screw back case. Probably a pink gold medallion, too. Same caliber 505 I think.

I have been offered a 2887 with exactly the same dial. I passed. The seller wants silly money, but if they are that rare maybe it's not so out of place, I know a certain watch which is asking $5000.

molto grazie. Were the references contemporaneous? Would one expect similar calibers and movement numbers in both?

I think Mike has a 2887. But I believe it to be the same caliber.

Yep, both cal. 501/505. I have had a couple of 2887-2s with Cal. 505.

In fact it's a 5RSSBOR, the side links aren't actually BOR are they.

    Ditto :D

Just trying to find a strap for it, can't decide on dark grey, or the burnt orange that Annie suggested to pick up the colour of the second hand.

    Decisions ::confused2::

I can't get German listings either, which Lou refers to as a "chink in my armor". :p
