I have always wanted to buy an interesting chronograph from this time period and I finally found this very original watch that is in remarkably good, very original condition. The watch dates to 1945. I am going to put it on a strap and wear it (the original Gay Freres bracelet, while cool, is not my thing). Some pictures - IMG_0056.JPG IMG_0055.JPG IMG_0049.JPG IMG_0061.JPG IMG_0054.JPG IMG_0057.JPG This is a great forum and helped me to focus on the UG Tri Compax.

I swear to the Watch Gods I am NEVER opening another thread in this forum that has any mention of "new addition" or "Incoming!". It's detrimental to my wallet.

    Nice watch man!

That is some truly amazing condition considering its 1945 in a non water or dustproof case, the stainless on bracelet looks excellent too, congratulations!

That is a really nice example. You certainly have an eye for condition.

I love how even the blue of the moonphase disk looks fresh and clean, matching the chronograph hands

I appreciate the nice comments from very knowledgable people on this board. I think it is a special watch from the standpoint of condition. The story I got was that the original owner was a British brigadier who purchased the watch in Paris at Hermes after the war and it spent much of its life in a safe deposit box before the original owner's son sold it to a very reputable(albeit expensive) and knowledgable London dealer. The feedback here confirms my thoughts on the watch. Very unusual original condition. I may have slightly overpaid but I knew it when I did it and I love the watch. Thanks for all the feedback and this forum is really among the better ones I visit.
