路Just tried the black dial one at OB. Surprisingly, it wears much better than the numbers (especially the thickness) suggest. With my casual wear on, I don't feel 1mm more thickness than my 321 EW. I wear formal attire with a tie during weekdays, and I am keen to drop by again on way home and re-try it.

路The Speedmaster 38 product line has been around for a long time. This update is just a minor facelift with a new dial and bezel, plus a new bracelet. I believe the case is the same.
It seems OMEGA isn't planning to put too much effort into the smaller Speedmaster.
A while ago, Speedmaster 38 was being sold as a women's watch.
Perhaps they thought women didn't care about the thickness, and you guys could probably accept that.

路I wonder if anyone has any insight into why it is so thick. I guess it has an inherently thick 7750 base even though highly upgraded with coaxial escapement, silicone hairspring, column wheel. Also to me the handstack looks kind of tall in the videos online
