I’m a newly minted owner of a Speedy Pro and delighted to say the least. Before this I wore a Tudor 9411 Submariner day-in and day-out, working out, showering, swimming, working on the house, playing with the kids, everything. I’m still honeymooning with the Speedy so it’s on my wrist all day everyday. My question surrounds the relationship a Speedy has with water.
I’ve seen this chart around the internet (because you can always trust everything on the internet):

But it looks like the current one on Omegas website is non-specific to activities:

With the Speedmaster rated to 5atm, I tested mine. It passed with flying colors. So, I would think it’s acceptable to sweat/shower with it.
What do people do with their Speedy? Keep it dry? Shower? Swim? Wash your hands?

(after the bike commute to work, cleaned and showered)

I have a Diver 300M, but I'd absolutely shower or swim (casually) at a local pool with your watch.

Maybe we can set up a swim date!

All I can say at this stage is 50M means don't take it diving or snorkelling.

Sweat? Probably OK, so long as you wash it in fresh water afterwards and constantly test the water resistance to make sure the seals are intact and functioning.

Shower? Not if you use soap or shampoo. Some soap molecules are smaller than water molecules and will go right through the seals.

Easy answer, don't do either with the watch and it will live longer.

Wouldn't soap molecules help to keep the movement clean?

No. Water molecules are tiny. Soap breaks down the surface tension of water.

I have never swam, showered, washed up or any other water based activity with a watch on and I own, amongst others a Seamaster diver ‍♂️

Why I am I so adverse to getting my watches wet, I don’t know ask my psychiatrist 😗

only beneficial when using a shampoo that comes with conditioner...
