When I look at the tracking log, I notice that the item is logged as having arrived in Florida on the 14th at 4:59PM and at 5:31PM it departed Chicago!!! Then at 6:08PM it's in Miami and so onward the tracking contradictions continue......unless it it trapped in a time/space vortex then, clearly their data management process is total shit!
The sender needs to ask the courier service what's going on, the courier service will only take them seriously, they wont pay you the intended recipient any heed.

And the US can't charge duties on something passing through on it's way to another country, the parcel will be held in bond, away from the other parcels destined for addresses within the USA, until such shipments are ready to leave US soil.
The OP mentioned above that the address on the package was a U.S. based freight forwarder. So USPS could not know the ultimate destination unless it was disclosed on the shipping paperwork. That is why I questioned the wisdom of having your exporter also be your importer. It is possible to get hit twice for customs on the same shipment if you are not careful.

I knew from the start this was going to be drama over nothing. Tracking is often incorrect as was obviously the case here. You just need to have a little patience.
