Nesbitt's is the best ever. I sent my 2254.50.00 to them, and pestered Jan, I suppose, but she took very good care of me, and when I asked about prices for other Omega things unrelated, she cheerfully looked them up.

My local Rolex dealer where my favorite watchmaker works takes good care of me but they sent my Omega watches to the service center Omega told them to and I had to return for service warranty three times. No longer. My modern Omegas go to Nesbitt's only.

I tried to go through Omegas service center, I may as well have been talking to a robot and i have heard that they have refused some repairs if someone else did service previously.

Not sure where you heard this, but Omega doesn't refuse to service ay watch because someone else serviced it. That's a complete fabrication.

Cheers, Al

I think someone is shining you on. The Speedmaster I once owned was serviced by three different watchmakers before I sent it to Omega for service.

Thanks for taking the time for this long reply.

no sweat. Nesbits completely overhaled my SMP300 that had lived a rough life with a local fisherman who sold it to me cheap as it was essentially shot. they brought it back to life and it is one of the better running watches in my collection!

could be for sure. This is not first hand experience. I read it in a forum when I was doing this exact same research when i was preparing my first omega for service.
I didnt have this experience myself, but I remember the conversation. There may have been unseen circumstances or something (AM parts used or something) I can not recall, I will try to find the post for my own edification, although its been a while.
I am not trying to spread misinformation! I made my choice from this information I had read.

Archer did the service on my 2531.80 if Archer couldn't do the work for some reason the only other place I would use would be Omega

Unlike say Rolex, who considers any aftermarket part on one of their watches makes the entire watch a counterfeit, Omega would simply replace those parts with the correct Omega parts.

The only reason Omega themselves refuse to service a modern watch, is if it's not an Omega - in other words it's a fake.

that is what I would think too.
I know rolex is finickey about it but wouldnt think Omega would be. I am a huge Omega fan and this is one of the reasons why.
thanks for your input, I would hate to think they wouldnt service a watch for any reson!
cheers.

Good to know. Sounds like you are picky, and so am I.

To share a bit... the Speedmaster I originally bought was a 3954.50.00... what they used to call the "Replica" (bad name) but now they call "Broad Arrow".

https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-speedmaster-broad-arrow-35945000

I thought I would love it... but I didn't.

Had the bezel replaced with the current black one. Did all of the white hands.

But then I had the hour and minute hands replaced with the alpha hands.

Sent it for factory service twice in this period.

Came back the same way it was sent except they f---ed up and service warranty.

But they never changed a thing.

Traded it to my watchmaker who restored it back to as-delivered. Heh!
